Friday

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I AM SO EXHAUSTED. Today was much worse than yesterday. We climbed Brandon pass to start off and it was so long. then we just kept going mile after mile. ran into many fields and hay (i think the first of many) Stopped on a nice hilly area for some lunch and frisbee. (PB&J again) we then crossed into New York at mile 30ish and just about everyone was feeling done. but no we still had like 20 miles to go. Not to mention that it was still very very hilly. So we were cruising through the first few miles all of us running on empty and guess what. Yes it rained...again. luckily it started just as soon as it started and we past a lake (i think lake George) and we decided to jump in and test the waters. Then we had another 5 miles to go. Blah now i can barely walk and we have another hard day tomorrow. so off to bed for me tonight. Luckily we are staying at this fabulous ymca with beds and all you can eat meals. so i need my sleep

Answer: because 7 ate 9

Joke: So the hat turns to the tie and says you hang around here, i will get on ahead

sounds like a rough day erik! i bet your muscles are killing you right now. wish i could make you feel better, but i guess the only advice i have is to "go get a fresh pineapple and eat ALL of it within 15 minutes of cutting it" (thanks coach wallin ;). right. like THAT'S gonna happen haha. so just drink lots of water, sleep as much as you can and keep on chugging!! things will level out soon. glad to hear things are going though, i really hate not talking to you. call me again when you get service? i miss you. talk to you soon and good luck!!

safe travels!

Hey Erik,

(we've met only a couple times in passing at Dartmouth, you may or may not remember, but I'll see you in Ashtabula, OH on July 6th for a picnic we are putting on for your group).

I did the NUS '07 Route, and I found the Bethal mountain pass much worse. Bethal Mountain was the last time on the whole trip where I had to walk my bike briefly!

Hope you enjoyed the YMCA resort. I distinctly remember the beds, and the shower (and the group skinny dipping in the cool lake that night)! But I have to disagree with jennifer on one point: the trip only got easier and more enjoyable AFTER the ride to Indian Lake, which was the ride right after the stay at the YMCA resort in Silver Bay. It was such a long day and so tiring and exhausting that at one point the girl I was riding with and I got into an argument about whether the road we were riding on was going uphill or downhill!!! Both of us still maintain to this day our opinion about the slope of the road.

Anyway, at the time I am writing this you must be pleasantly sleeping in Boonville. I hope the Indian Lake ride wasn't TOO bad. Make sure to seek out the Legendary Tammie Nipper in Palermo tomorrow though. She's so awesome that we named our bike and build van "the Tammie Nipper"!!

happy and safe riding,
dan
